A reach stacker is a vehicle meant to handle the movement of containerized cargo within medium and small-sized ports and terminals. Reach stackers are perfect for quickly shuttling containers short distances and stacking them in rows.
Due their flexibility, reach stackers are a popular choice for handling intermodal cargo containers. They can stack higher than forklift trucks. With a reach stacker capable of second row access, container blocks could be kept four-deep.
