The Carriage
Like typical forklifts, the lifting attachment could be tilted from its horizontal position to forwards and backwards. The actual amount of tilt possible totally exceeds that of vertical mast lift trucks. There are various types of lifting attachments offered, and this ability to position makes them as efficient as possible.
The majority of telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position that is actually parallel to the ground. Some models have rotating carriages also. This enables the operator to adjust the lifting attachment radially. This translates to the load being capable of being tilted backwards and forwards, and side to side.
Load Capacity
Figuring out a telehandler's load capacity is a much different exercise than it is on a vertical mast unit. The capacity of the unit is completely dependent on such things as: the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable and boom extension and angle, whether the unit is lifting on rubber tires or on outriggers. What's more, which lifting attachment plays a very important part, as does the wind, the grade the machinery is operating on and so forth. All of these specifics can be changing constantly and this gives the operator a lot more information to think about.
Telehandlers will usually have some different load charts available to them, giving them a good reference they can use to determine a particular lift's load capacity. Depending on the configuration of the boom and the model in particular, the load capacity could differ by thousands of pounds all together.
