Solid Lift Truck Tire Safety
Around 200 deaths ever year are a result of accidents involving lift trucks, or forklifts. Proper maintenance and inspection of forklift tires can help to reduce the risk of mishaps.

Pre-Work Check
Before the beginning of each shift, the tires on the lift truck should be checked for indications of wear and damage. The air pressure inside the tires should be checked to ensure the pressure is not very low. Low tire pressure could make the machinery susceptible to tip-overs while lifting loads.

Types of Tires
The selection of tire type must be based on the type of surface on which the lift truck will be utilized. For indoor applications, lift trucks with solid rubber tires are recommended. For smoother surfaces, tires are normally smaller. Larger pneumatic tires are great for lift trucks for outdoor applications. Pneumatic tires are able to grip well on surfaces which are rough because they have rubber tread and are air-filled.

Other factors
Any lift truck used on a continual basis must be checked at the end of every shift, according to Occupational Health and Safety Administration guidelines. The tires must be inspected once more for any indication of damage, such as wear or cuts.

Forklift Safety
If you or your workers would be using forklifts, proper training in lift truck safety is vital. Lift truck mishaps could lead to serious personal injuries or death and lead to unmanageable financial hardship. Even minor accidents could cost your company money if the goods or the forklift are damaged during an accident. Be certain you really know a lot about problems involved in lift truck safety.
