In order to be a successful unit, a lift truck needs to be strong enough to last in all working conditions for many hours of use. It should be able to move loads effectively and quickly too. The machinery has to be ergonomically correct and comfortable for the operator too.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and reliable. The powertrain needs the power to always provide great durability through its computer-managed engine and transmission. It provides state-of-the-art clutch packs combined with really tough shafts and strong gears. The steer axle, drive, transmission and engine are all isolated to lessen vibration and noise inside the compartment of the operator.
Mazda and GM Gas & LP Engines:
GM's gas engines and Mazda's LP engine use cast iron blocks to promote long life. These equipment offer an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system which requires minimum adjustment or repair. These engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats that reduce wear.
Yanmar and Cummins Diesel Engines:
Within the Cummins and Yanmar diesel engines, a high compression ratio offers excellent torque. Remarkable fuel consumption is provided by efficient fuel systems.
Regular Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The standard Electronic Powershift Transmission features gears which are 15 percent stronger and shafts that maximize resistance to rough driving. The strong clutch packs provide 3 times the life of preceding packs. Lastly, there is electronic inching available that adjusts automatically so as to decrease maintenance needs by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
The Techtronix Transmission utilizes computer-controlled power reversal to extend the life of the tires, to eliminate shock loading and increase durability. Furthermore, the auto deceleration feature reduces break pedal usage and break wear.
Drive Axle:
The Drive Axle is made for extra strength with its brake drum mounting, full floating axle shaft and the pinion gears and strong ring. This part also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are entirely sealed against contamination and basically maintenance free.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to protect the steer cylinder from debris and damage. It has fixed-length tie rods to add more durability and stability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist side-to-side and front to back forces. Furthermore, cast ductile iron axle increases toughness and lessens wear.
Yale had made lots of safety features and ergonomic features part of their standard packages. These types of machinery would handle tough environments, while keeping the operator safe and comfortable for the duration of their shift.
