A type of device in the material handling business which can be utilized to lift and transport loads from one location to another is referred to as a forklift. Each and every forklift part has a particular function. Different components can be utilized to transport the load either horizontally or vertically.
Mast
The forklift mast refers to all the parts that lower and lift the load. There are different kinds of masts for raising loads to different heights: triplex, quad, simplex and duplex.
Power Supply
Forklifts have four various ways of being powered: gas, electric, diesel and propane. The battery is situated inside the cab underneath the seat. The propane tank is situated on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on diesel and gas forklifts is under the back of the truck.
Cab
Located in the middle of the truck is the forklift cab. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The gas pedal, steering wheel, lifting controls, tilting controls and brake are all situated inside the cab.
Frame
The frame of the truck carries all the biggest parts of the forklift, including the counterweights, that are situated at the rear to prevent the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame consists of the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the wheels, driveshaft and axles.
